In Loving Memory: Rachel's Story
Some moments change you forever. When I had the privilege of photographing Rachel through Blue Skies Ministries, her strength, grace, and light left an indelible mark on my heart.
Pediatric cancer is a devastating battle, but through the lens, my heart is always to capture the absolute beauty of a child’s spirit—not the illness. For Rachel, those sessions captured her joy, her fierce courage, and the deep, unwavering love of her family.
Though Rachel has since gained her heavenly healing, her mother shared with me that these photographs became something they could physically hold onto in the darkest moments of grief—a tangible, breathing piece of her life that they will cherish forever. That testimony is the very heartbeat of why I do what I do. Photography cannot stop the heartbreak of this world, but through dignity-centered storytelling, it can preserve a legacy of love that death cannot touch. To hold a camera in these sacred spaces is to give a family an anchor, and it remains one of the greatest privileges of my life.
